Kit Harrington, as Jon Snow, in season six.

The much anticipated and controversial season six of Game of Thrones premiered on Sunday, April 24th. The episode begins right where season five left off, with a view of Jon Snow’s dead body lying in the snow. Back at Winterfell, Sansa and Theon escaped Ramsey’s grasp and are eventually caught but are saved by Brienne and Podric. Brienne then continues to keep her promise and swears her loyalty to Sansa. Daenerys Targaryen has been captured by the Dothraki. In King’s Landing, Cersei learns of Myrcella’s death and simultaneously mourns her death and plots revenge against the sand snakes who killed Prince Doran and are taking over Dorne.

In episode two, we see a glimpse of what Bran has been doing with the three eyed raven. We then travel back to Winterfell where Ramsey has gone on another rampage and killed his father to become the warden of the north. The Lannisters continue their struggle against the high sparrow and the faith militant. We see Arya continue her struggle as a blind beggar who is learning to become no one. In the Iron Islands, Euron Grejoy makes his grand entrance by killing Balon Greyjoy.  And to end the episode, Melisandre fulfilled all of our hopes and resurrected Jon Snow.

The next episode begins with the reactions of all the members of the night’s watch and wildlings to Jon Snow’s resurrection. We see a flashback to the tower of joy where Ned fought to get Lyanna back. Arya gets her sight back. Rickon has been captured by Ramsey and Jon Snow executes the traitors and ends his watch.

In most recent episode, Sansa arrives at Castle Black to finally reunite with Jon. The King’ws council plots an attack against the faith militant. Theon returns to the Iron islands and Daenerys Targaryen is rescued and takes over the Dothraki.
