In Spanish, hola means hello. It is often used to greet one another, along with the phrases Buenos dias, which means good morning, or que onda, which means what’s up. The typical greeting custom with friends and family is to kiss each other once on each cheek. If you don’t know the person, the most common gesture is to shake their hand firmly.
