Sophomore Devante Moley opened his front door on May 19 th 2008 to find a brown package containing his 2007-2008 yearbook. He was one out of the thirty students at Annandale High School to get his yearbook early. The Walsworth publishing corporation, who have published the AHS yearbooks for 8 years, mistakenly passed out fliers that proclaimed a sale that allowed the students who received the fliers to pay ten dollars less then the $75 you have to pay now. The sale was nothing but an error on the company’s behalf, caused by a lack of communication for which they have apologized. Ms. Holmes, the yearbook director, said she was “disappointed that some people got the yearbooks early”, and she asked that the “people who had already received yearbooks not to bring them to school to show them off”. Yearbook staff member Katie Janssen was disappointed as well, because those who received their yearbooks early obtained it before the staff members did. She had been looking forward to getting her yearbook early, just as all staff members do every year. May 30th remained the distribution day of yearbooks for all students. Seniors were the first to report to Claussen Hall during R1, followed by the juniors and underclassmen. Janssen said that she “can’t wait until May 30th, as it will the best day ever”. This is the day when all of the hard work of all of the staff members will finally be realized. Janssen also exclaimed, “I love this year’s yearbook because it is different from other years. She also disclosed that the yearbook has a “small surprise.” The best part about this book is that it has triple the amount of pictures that it did last year and it has a very artsy feel to it. Ms. Homes believed that people would be surprised with the presentation of the information. Moley commented the difference from the yearbooks of past years to the book produced for the class of 2007-2008 is that it contains a lot more information and as a result is a lot bigger. However, he felt that the layout was a bit too basic, and that the different school programs were not given equal representation throughout the book.
