How many years have you been involved in this club? I have been an active member for three years. 1. Why is this club important to you? This club is important to me for many reasons. First of all, it is one of the clubs that I am very active in.
2. Why did you want to run for president? I ran for president because I wanted to become more involved in the club. I also wanted to make great changes to it.
3. What made you want to join the club? I wanted to join this club because it was a way of improving my leadership skills. Also, I find that being a business leader will be very helpful in the future. No matter what profession I want to pursue in the future, being a leader will benefit me tremendously.
4. What are your duties as president? I take part in planning the meetings, run the meetings, represent the Annandale Chapter of FBLA, and make sure everything goes as planned.
5. What is the best part about being a part of this club? The best part about being in this club is interacting will all the great members.
6. What do you like about being president? I like the fact that I am more involved in the club. I have an opportunity to run it and make it a better club for all the members.
7. What types of activities does your club do? Leadership conferences, Ask Project- raise toys/gift cards for children with cancer, March of Dimes- raise money for premature babies, Middle school girls conference- Explore possible careers for middle school girls, Movie and Popcorn- social event, and this year a Field trip to Philadelphia. 8. How much time and effort do you put into this club? FBLA is very time consuming for active members. Although there is only one meeting per month, there are many officer meetings, leadership conferences, and social events.
9. How do you feel/ work with other officers of the club? I feel I work very well with other officers in the club. We all love FBLA and our mission is to improve the club and to just have lots of fun. 10. Have you previously been an officer? Which one? What did you do? Yes, my previous office was historian. Being historian, my job was to capture all the exciting moments of the club and preserve it in the form of a scrap book. 11. What has been the best experience for you in this club? My best experience in this club was participation in the March of Dimes. March of Dimes is an organization that seeks to better the health of premature babies. 12. What has been the worst experience? I cannot recall any horrible experience. 13. Why should people join your club? Because FBLA is a lot of fun! It provides members opportunities to develop themselves into a business person and a leader. 14. What changes do you want to make to the club? What would you have be different? The club is great as it is right now. But I would like to see the club participate in more community oriented activities. Since members are suppose to be leaders, having them participate in activities that will benefit the community is an improvement the club can make. 15. How do you plan to increase participation in the club? I plan to increase participation in the club by coming up with more exciting projects. One project we really want to come true is a fun day at Hemlock where members of FBLA can have fun while building team skills.
16. How many members are in your club? The club has over 100 members 17. Do you enjoy being a leader? Explain
Yes, I enjoy being a leader because I feel that the world needs to have leaders for great things to happen. A FBLA speaker once said, it is great to have followers, but it is even better to have leaders. 18. What activities has your club done so far this school year? Homecoming parade- members hung out and had a great time decorating and filling bags of candies to give out to the neighborhood children. Upcoming is the Fall Conference at Marymount where different FBLA chapters meet with each other and discuss ways to explore leadership skills.
