College Information for Spanish Speakers

College session on Wed. to make applying and affording college easier

Robin Roth, Career center specialist, wants to assist the Spanish speakers around AHS with getting into college. Roth has designed an evening program dedicated to informing Spanish speaking student and parents on “how to attend college.”

On Dec .7  this information session will be held in the Lecture Hall at 6:30 p.m. There’s no age requirement, “this program is appropriate for all grade levels”, Roth said.

The information session has taken time and language barriers into consideration, “the program will be held in Spanish and should last 2 hours,” Roth says.

Guest speakers with various educational backgrounds have been invited to speak during the program to talk about the different college path options. Roth said there would be ‘representatives from a 4 year college and 2 year college”.

The subject of affording college when you are not a legal resident of the US will be touched on and, “the college admissions people will talk about the college admissions process for their respected areas”, Roth says.

All are encouraged to attend and learn about how to go into college and make it more affordable.
