Athletes sign letters of intent

The group laughs as the camera crew jokes about the signing.

Four AHS athletes signed their letters of intent to play sports in college today during the morning announcements. Senior Stephanie Allshouse will play soccer for Shippensburg University, senior Bryan Jefferson will play football for Georgetown University, senior Alex Ellison will run track for Virginia Tech and senior Austin Chavez will run track for the University of Virginia.

“After visiting Shippensburg a few times, I became convinced that it was the school for me,” Allshouse said. “I won’t be that far from home and I can visit my older sister, who is at the Indiana University of  Pennsylvania.”

Principal Vincent Randazzo gave a quick speech congratulating the athletes before they signed their letters. After the signatures, each athlete said a short piece about playing a sport in college.
