Austin Hall scores 1,000 points

A historical occasion occurred when the AHS Atoms faced off against the West Potomac Wolverines on Friday, Jan. 16. Senior Austin Hall became the third person in AHS history to reach 1,000 points. Hall has been working towards this accomplishment his whole life and he recently surpassed that goal.

When asked about this momentous occasion he replied, “It feels great, its always been one of my goals to score 1,000 points as a High School basketball player and I have put in a lot of years and a ton of work to get there. It means a lot to accomplish something I have worked so long for.”

Hall has been playing basketball since he was a little child developing his skills by playing on AAU teams, practicing with trainers, and conditioning on his own, well all of his hard work payed off against the Wolverines by making history.

Matt Behne, the coach of the Atoms basketball team, was very excited for Hall after the milestone he reached.

“I am very proud of Austin, he is one of three people to score 1,000 points which is a huge deal for any player at any level. I know how hard he has worked to get to this point and I am very proud of him.”

The next game for AHS boys varsity basketball is home against Lake Braddock. Hall looks forward to keep scoring and help improve his teams record.
