Two easy projects that’ll spruce up your house with Halloween spirit:

Instructions:

  1. Draw your ghost eyes and mouth on the jugs. Be sure to leave the caps on while you do this so the jugs don’t dent.
  2. Use the craft knife or scissors to cut a hole about the size of a half-dollar in the back of each jug.
  3. Arrange the ghosts near each other and thread the lights in between them. Make sure each jug has several bulbs in them.

Monster Jars

Materials:

  • Mod Podge (you can either buy Mod Podge at your local craft store or click the link for the recipe)
  • colored tissue paper
  • assorted glass or plastic jars (use glass if you’re using candles)
  • acrylic paint

Instructions:

  1. Cut your tissue paper into strips that are the same height as your jar. Make each strip about 1-2 inches wide.
  2. Brush a strip of Mod Podge on the jar, and lay a strip of tissue paper on top. Smooth it out and be careful not to tear the paper. Don’t worry if it looks wrinkly, it’ll look smoother once it has dried.
  3. Continuing adding strips, overlapping them a little bit, until the entire jar is covered.
  4. Cut out face shapes from black paper and apply them to the jar with Mod Podge.
  5. Give the entire jar a top coat of Mod Podge.
  6. Paint the tops of the jars green, gray or black after it has dried.
  7. Place tea candles or a string of holiday or white lights in your jars and enjoy!
