Biblical Christian

I am a Christian. I do not have a specific title such as Methodist, protestant, etc. I am simply a Christian. My church is a bible church and my pastor does not preach based off of traditions of robes like other churches. We simply believe that the bible is the word of God and the whole, pure truth and that’s what we preach.

We believe that the world is created by the all-powerful God. I believe that God created the world, he sent his only son to the world, Jesus Christ, so that we could have the gift of eternal life. God offers us the gift of eternal life in heaven if we believe in him and live by his plan.

A key factor of being a Christian is our political views, for example our beliefe in pro-life. In the Bible it says we are alive in our mother’s womb from the second of conception, meaning every abortion is a murder of a life. The belief in God and Christianity is what I was raised with and what I have believed in my whole life. It has founded my morals.

My day-to-day life is affected by my faith in many ways besides my daily devotionals and praying. I am by no means perfect in fulfilling what God requests of us, but I try to live a moral and honest life. As a Christian I try to be a trustworthy and respectful person. I try to remember that my life is to glorify God, and that I am not the center of the world.

Stephen- I am proud for you. You are standing up for your beliefs with Biblical grounding. At age 75 I left the denomination I had been a member of since childhood and joined with a group that broke with that denomination in 1828 and formed another denomination. Denominations have almost started in American to spell demoninations. Demoninations have had a powerful affect on the world. At almost 80 years of age I have seen Christianity spintered into small groups demanding they have the answer. I remember the story of the father who called his sons in, picked up a stick and broke it. As they stood wondering what was going on the father picked up many sticks and showed them they could not be broken. His message was “stick together”. I worry that Christianity will become so fragmented that the devil will find many of those without solid help fair game. I do not believe any doctrine, or just any religion will take us to heaven, as so many do today. Justification, says that Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins, period. Sanctification, says that we live righteous lives because of our love and obedience to Jesus Christ. All rules and doctrines divised since Christ has been the devils workshop. Our division and arguments are mostly over doctrine beyond those two simple principles. May Jude 3 become the motto of us all. Allen D. Mitchell
