Sophomore starts hair styling business

From a very young age, sophomore Fauzah Kargbo knew that hair was her calling. Kargbo is known for being able to do virtually anything when it comes to hair, but has gained a reputation for her box braids and wig installations.

She continues to educate herself learning new styles, techniques to stay ahead of the highly competitive world of hair styling, and prides herself in her own unique techniques that are second to none. The young hair stylist works at home offering very convenient prices and outstanding results.

“I’ve always had a passion for hair from my ghetto baby doll hair cuts to now,” Kargbo said. I started doing hair when I was 7 years old on my dolls I would do braids, twist and haircuts,  however I didn’t begin doing hair on people until I did box braids on myself in the eighth grade and got my first client when I was 13 years old.”

It is no secret black women spend a huge amount of time and fortune on their hair. Growing up, Kargo had to endure a lot whether it was the over pricing of hair or bad time management just to achieve the perfect look.

She eventually decided to take it upon herself to do her own hair and began focusing on her talents and expanding to a wide range of clients.
