11th annual Thanksgiving Day Trot for Hunger:

Location: The 5K run will begin at Freedom Plaza and will be between 12th and 13th Street NW, Washington D.C. The run is being sponsored by the SOME program (so others may eat), an organization that strives to serve more than 800 meals per year to the hungry. The run will first start off at 8:30 am with the Little Turkey One Mile Fun Run. Each child and/or adult must be registered for the official 5K run. Right after the Fun Run, at 9 am, the 5K will start and with this run, for those that have been registered, will receive a t-shirt, race bib and timing chip.

Reston Towne Center Holiday Parade

On Friday Nov. 23rd, the Reston Towne Center community will be holding its annual Holiday Parade celebration. The event will host festivities for the family that will include Santa and Mrs. Clause in a parade and musical groups, dancers and floats making their way down Market Street. Some of the other festivities will include horse drawn carriage rides, a Holiday Tree Lighting & Sing Along with a chorus of traditional holiday music. This celebration will begin at 8 am. It is a celebration you do not want to miss.
