The long awaited annual Antenna Yearbook is ready to be distributed today during W4 and W6 in Clausen Hall to people of all grades.
The theme of the yearbook this year is “Stepping Up.”
“The theme is a message about all parts of the lives of students,” Editor in Chief and senior Sesen Beyene said.
“Whether it’s in classes, social lives, or politics, it’s our time to step up and make a space for ourselves,” Copy Editor and junior Nia Lewis said.
Along with the theme, the yearbook’s leadership and staff came up with several innovative aesthetic differences at an annual yearbook camp last summer.
“During the camp, we looked at several new ideas on Pinterest, and we saw one that really inspired us,” Beyene said.
The new yearbook design features colorful triangles on the cover.
This theme will also carry on and be featured throughout the pages that are inside of the book.
Members of the yearbook staff are very excited to see all the product off all their efforts throughout the school year.
“It is going to be nice to see all the hard work that we put into the yearbook put into print,” Staff Member Kalkidan Tucker and junior said.
“There is no better feeling or payoff than seeing people enjoy and talk about a project you put a lot of effort into,” Staff Member and junior Safia Ahmed said.
Other students are also ready to see the yearbook.
“I’m looking forward to seeing all the photos of the things that me and my friends did this school year,” junior Dani Villarroel said.
While it was completed in April, the staff spent the past few weeks advertising the yearbook in multiple ways.
People who had already bought the yearbook were given wristbands.
Meanwhile lollipops and flyers were handed out to students who had not bought it, but were featured in multiple pages.
Additionally, posters were posted all around the school in the hopes of procuring last minute buyers.
People who still want to buy the yearbook may do so.
Order forms are available in yearbook advisor Julia Hanneman’s room 268 and are to be picked up there as well.
