Can they keep their record?

Our very own NHL hockey team from Washington D.C. is on a roll this season. With a 20-7-6 record the Washington Capitals are number one in the Southeast Division. The team is full of a group of hardworking men dedicated to the sport. Under the leadership of captain Chris Clark, the team puts an extraordinary effort into each game.

Although the Caps weren’t able to win their playoff game in the first installment of the NHL Championship against the Pittsburgh Penguins last season, they were determined to win it this year. Even though it is a bit early to determine whether they have improved since last year, further in on the season it will be easier to figure out.

Star player Alexander Ovechkin, who was drafted in the first rounds in 2005; has definitely been on top of his game this season. Even with the abundance of fights and suspensions he has got this year, he is, without a doubt, one of the main reasons the Caps are having such a successful season; his skill is astounding. Every game he plays in, he puts his heart into it, no matter how much they might be losing by.

The Caps have a game coming up tonight at 7:30 PM (MST) at the Pepsi Center in Denver, but will be on at 9:30 (ET). The Washington Caps will be battling it out against the Colorado Avalanche. With a 19-10-6 record, the game is sure to be an undetermined result. The game will be played at the Avalanche’s home hockey stadium, the Pepsi Center. Be sure to tune in to the game whether by radio (CAPS 1500 AM) or on CSN-DC. It surely will be a game to be talked about.

Caps lost the semi-finals game 7 to pittsburgh 6-2 not the NHL championship (aka stanley cup). And Alex Ovechkin was drafted in 2005. And btw the game was at 9:30 in Denver at Pepsi Center
