The college football season is coming to an end, but not before all 41 bowl games and the College Football Playoff (CFP).
The four-team playoff was added in the 2014-2015 season. This year, the playoff consists of LSU, Ohio State, Clemson, and Oklahoma. The number one seed, LSU, will play the number four seed, Oklahoma, in the Peach Bowl.
The number two seed, Ohio State, will play the number three seed, Clemson, in the Fiesta Bowl. The Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl will take place in Atlanta, Georgia, and the PlayStation Fiesta Bowl will take place in Glendale, Arizona.
“I’m personally really excited for the College Football Playoff to start,” freshman Yusuf Omar said. “I think that LSU is going to win the CFP National Championship after they beat Alabama, I think they showed everyone that they are a top contender to win it all.”
LSU has been in perfect form this season, by beating multiple powerhouse football schools like Florida, Auburn, Georgia, and Alabama, and going undefeated as well. Joe Burrow and the LSU offense have carried the team, with their top wide receiver, Ja’Marr Chase, racking up 1,498 receiving yards on the season so far. “I think Joe Burrow should definitely win the Heisman,” freshman Emanuel Adomakoh said. “He leads the LSU offense to perfection, and he also just broke the SEC record for most touchdowns in a single season.”
Ohio State is also undefeated this season. Star running back, J.K. Dobbins, has come up clutch in close games for the Buckeyes when playing Wisconsin, Penn State, and Michigan, Dobbins ran for 531 yards and eight touchdowns altogether.
Clemson’s season appeared easy to most, as they are in one of the most non-threatening conferences in NCAA Football, the ACC. But nevertheless, it is still very difficult to go undefeated, which they have still managed to do. The Tigers have one of the top defenses in all of college football with linebacker, Isaiah Thomas, leading the defense with 93 tackles on the season.
Oklahoma, is the only team with a loss, making them the underdog of the College Football Playoff. Jalen Hurts, the former back-up quarterback for Alabama, is having an amazing season, passing for 3,634 yards and leading the team in rushing yards with 1,255 yards with 219 carries.
The CFP is going to be a very competitive couple of games, both games are being played on Saturday, Dec. 28, with the CFP Championship on,Jan. 13.
