Extra salt is not necessary; avoid adding more if the meal came with salt

When you want to eat healthier, your choices can be limited. Eating healthier does not always mean you have to give up all junk food. Follow by these tips to help you eat healthy but at the same time be satisfied.

1. Add fruits and vegetables

If your breakfast consists of empty carbohydrates or you are still hungry, eat fruit. Adding fruit will expand your portion but will benefit you. Fruits such as oranges, apples and bananas are filled with vitamins that are needed daily for you to maintain good health. At dinnertime, instead of an extra serving, add vegetables to your plate so you can eat without having to worry too much about eating extra unnecessary calories.

2. Drink water with a meal

Having an unhealthy meal every now and then is perfectly fine as long as you eat in moderation. Drink water with that meal to help digest the meal and prevent drinking a days worth of a recommended sugar intake.

3. Avoid extra salt

Many add extra salt to their french fries to make it tastier. If the snack already came with salt, it is excessive to keep adding more. Reduce your salt intake by either adding a dash of salt or avoiding adding more.

4. Slow eating

Its hard to slow down when you are really hungry. However, slowing down will prevent you from overeating because your stomach has a chance to send signals to your brain that it is full. Talking and putting down your fork between bites can help you slow down.

Sometimes the healthy food you wanted is not available or you are craving it. It is fine once in a while, but you can use these tips to make the meal a little better.
