Humans of Annandale: Megan Le

While I am very active both academically and in terms of extracurriculars, I make dedicating myself to others the main priority. I value education immensely, but for me it is more than just math and history. It is about personal development and learning how to care for others as well as oneself.

Outwardly, I am the president of Key Club, as well as a member of National Honor Society and Math Honor Society. Inwardly, however, I am a budding leader, who is striving to grow despite dealing with struggles just as everyone does.

I am the center manager for GIVE tutoring at George Mason Regional Library, which means I get to not only teach children from across the county but support other highschoolers in developing teaching skills as well.
I love to tutor because I know I play a role in shaping the educational foundation in children. Giving back to the community is something I have always enjoyed.

With my friends, I enjoy a good laugh, sometimes getting carried away in hour long discussions about anything from Uzbekistan to the Fibonacci sequence. In my free time I like to be outdoors doing things like biking, running, and hiking. I enjoy disconnecting from modern day technology, especially my phone, and experiencing the real world around me. I guess you could call me pretty old school. Among other things I enjoy are seeing musicals, reading, and developing my wit.

As for my future, I am looking into becoming a physical therapist, which stems from my desire to help people.
As I participated in swim and track throughout high school, I learned more about how the body works and became interested in kinesiology. I want to be able to aid others in recovering from their injuries.
While I would have to acquire a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree (DPT), I want to do something I enjoy and am willing to accept the challenge.
