Top 7 activities to do on Thanksgiving

Fall is here and so is Thanksgiving. There are many different activities available to people that live in the DMV area. Here is a list of many enjoyable activities to do for Thanksgiving. 

 

  • Trot For Hunger: People gather on November 28, to walk or run to raise funds for the SOME’s Trot for Hunger to aid DC neighbors in need. It is located at Freedom Plaza and takes place in the morning. Thanksgiving is a great opportunity to give back to people that are less fortunate than us.

  • Thanksgiving Day Tree Planting: There is no better way to spend Thanksgiving than giving back to our environment. Baltimore Tree Trust is hosting its 2nd annual Thanksgiving tree planting. The event will take place on November 22 at 8:50 AM – 11:15 AM.

  • Veg Society of DC Thanksgiving Gala: There is something for the lovely vegetarians too! The Veg Society of DC hosts a yearly event that features Ruby Lathon who is a holistic nutritionist. This event includes activities such as appealing door prizes, a silent auction fundraiser, activities for all ages, live music and lastly a huge vegan feast.

  • Shenandoah National Park, Luray: If you are looking for an Instagram worthy picture then this park has a lot to offer. You will be able to see spectacular sights such as cascading waterfalls, peaceful forested hollows, go on a hike, and have a picnic with the family for Thanksgiving.

  • Cox Farms Fall Festival: This event takes place on September 14 – 15, 21 – Nov 5 in Centreville, Virginia. Cox Farms is one of the most famous pumpkin patches in Northern Virginia. Cox. There are activities that attract a broad age spectrum and it promises a day filled with fun.
