Artist Spotlight: junior An Pham

When did you start doing/making art?
I started art when I was 5 or 6.
Has art always been something you’ve been drawn
to or something you’ve steadily got more interested in
as you got older?
I’ve always been drawn to it (art) because I used to watch

a lot of cartoons with my family and I was like ‘oh wow I real-
ly like this’.

What is your favorite piece of art?
I don’t really have a favorite one but I like all of them.
What is your process in making art?
I turn on movies in the background and just watch it while
I do art and sometimes music too.
When are you watching the movie or listening to
music, does it inspire your artwork?
Not necessarily, I get bored when I’m solely doing art so its
(the background music and movies) to entertain me.

Do you have any influences or inspirations
when it comes to creating art?
Pictures and artists. There’s a lot but I can’t really
name all of them (artists) but every single time I need
inspiration I just go onto the internet and look for
inspiration videos and artwork.

How do you feel your art has impacted you as a per-
son ?

It just made me more creative and has made me more
expressive in creative ways. Sometimes I can express myself
through art, like when I’m sad or happy.
Do you feel the art has poured into other aspects of
your life?
I want to be an architect so art is kind of important in that,
and it’s a fun hobby!
