How to get into the Fall spirit

1. Balance Your Time

With summer coming to an end, it is time to stop thinking about the beach and start managing our time wisely. The free time that we had will be decreasing. It is time to redirect all that energy we had during the summer into our school work. Balancing out time can be a great way to get organized and make sure to have enough time to not only do school work but relax as well. Fall can be very stressful because it is hard to get back into old routines, but everything takes time and eventually, things will start becoming easier to deal with. “Since summer is over I have to deal with school and work. Balancing my time really helps me stay on task,” junior Ayaz Ahmed said.

2. Make Fall Plans

It may seem like there is not enough time to enjoy the fall season because it passes by too quickly, but that is not the case. We are losing daylight and just wasting half the time moping about how we can not go to the beach anymore. If you do not know what you want to do, make a bucket list. They can be helpful when it comes to trying to carry out plans. School holds many exciting events during the fall season that students can enjoy with their friends. Some of the events the school has already held are the Taste of Annandale, movie night, and Homecoming. “I make lists for every season. My fall list includes going to all the football games and going to club events,” freshman Sahra Omar said.

3. Create A New Playlist

Sometimes the change in seasons affects people’s moods, and that can change their taste in music. Playlists give listeners the opportunity to keep their music organized in a specific way. Creating a new playlist motivates and gets you in the mood for intense hours of learning. During the summer, many people probably listen to fast upbeat songs that fit in with the season, but fall is here now. Maybe listening to songs that are slow and give off a calming vibe is what you need to get you through the season. “Listening to music helps me concentrate and relax. I think it’s important to make sure the songs you listen to put you in a good mood,” sophomore Elizabeth Chichester said.

4. Shop For The Season

Rid your closet of summer outfits and stack up on fall clothing. Stores will be giving lots of sales for the fall season because they will be getting new collections. It is time to forget the tank tops and welcome those oversized sweaters. The weather is not the same as it was in the summer, it is cooler and often windy or rainy. Buying clothes that will keep you cozy is smart. Remember to not only shop for your wardrobe but your house too. Buy things that will be able to give your house that fall vibe like candles or wallpaper with fall patterns. “My favorite season to dress is fall because it’s a season that balances the cold and hot weather,” senior Benjamin McGraw said.
