Q: What are some unexpected V-day stories?

A: Somebody delivered a dozen roses to me. My daughter’s soccer coach gave her a flower. My husband always cooks me dinner. The first time we did it, we didn’t eat until 10 o’clock at night because it was a complicated recipe.

A: I like the overall theme that it’s about love.

Q: What foods would you eat on this holiday?

A: A special dinner and dessert. I’d like to eat Pasta alla Norma, which is pasta with eggplants. I’m also going to eat homemade ice cream with Thin Mints. It’s like homemade ice cream, but to the next level.

Q: What are your traditions that you and/or your family do on Valentine’s day?

A: My husband always cooks me dinner. I get my kids chocolate surprises sometimes. I got the kids a ZOKU Slush and Shake maker. I made them strawberry milk when they were little.

Q: Would you recommend any of these traditions or food to anyone who celebrates V-day?

A: Yes! I think it’s better to cook together than going out to eat. Especially during Covid, so I would recommend everybody to cook a meal together.

Q: What are some funny Valentine’s day stories?

A: In seventh grade my parents took me to the mall to meet my Valentine. She and I went to the Hallmark store and I bought her some chocolate. When I was at the register she got nabbed by security for stealing and they called her parents to come pick her up. She told them I taught her to steal and her parents yelled at mine for raising a punk. It was a mess.
