Many health professionals are questioning weather turf fields are any better than grass fields. Athletes who play soccer, football, and lacrosse like the turf because it allows for them to play in rain and other weather conditions. There has been a link found between lower extremity injuries and turf fields. Parents are also concerned about the turf pellets entering the bloodstream and the link between turf fields and cancer.
