Former AHS Student Named Cherry Blossom Princess for 2010

AHS alumnus Miyako Yerick has been chosen as the Cherry Blossom princess for 2010.

She will be representing the American Samoa.

Yerick graduated with an International Baccalaureate degree from AHS in 2008.

She is currently attending Columbia University, where she majors in History and minors in Political Science.

She also works with inner city kids in Harlem through America Reads.

After Columbia, she would like to attend law school.

Yerick has been doing martial arts for 15 years, with a third degree black belt in Hapmudo, and a first degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do.

Yerick is currently the Vice President of the Columbia University Tae Kwon Do team.

In addition to Tae Kwon Do, she has been dancing hula for twelve years.
