The AHS theatre fours VHSL a one act play will be held on February 1st, 2017 on two different times on 3:50 PM and 6 PM in the auditorium. The time of this play is very accessible as students can stay after school and ride the late bus. Students can also go to the 6PM play if they could not make it to the later one.

Adding to all of these exciting opportunities there will be a free admission to this 15 minutes play competition preview.

The AHS theater will compete in the Patriot VHSL Theatre Conference this Saturday at Lake Braddock Secondary School.

The story of the play revolves around “Detective Jonathan P. Tape (Beckman Hollis) is on a mission to find a bomb on a train, but no one knows where it is. He enlists the help of the bumbling Mr. Pochuckney (William Cardozo). They disturb all of the passengers on the train in their search for the bomb. Chaos ensues as Tape begins to suspect even his newfound partner. Finally, the bomb is found in the one place no one suspected” as the AHS artistic director Katherine Brunberg stated. Brunberg also says that this play is “Full of witty one-liners, outrageous characters, and crazy antics, this play is sure to leave you laughing.”

The show was directed collaboratively by the theatre 4 students, Maya Koch, William Cardozo, Jessica Smith, Juliana Iglesias, Beckman Hollis, and Josue Valdez.

Katherine also stated that “For me, winning is never the goal with theatre. Every school does such different plays, it’s difficult to say which is better. I am excited to see all of the shows on Saturday. I know our school will put on a great show!”
Get over to the auditorium now and take advantage of this great event as the play will only be displayed in Annandale once.
