Recently, students and faculty were asked how they felt about teachers being armed. Although school shootings have become extremely common, a lot of people disagreed with the idea of armed teachers for “better safety.” The reason students are against armed faculty is because they feel like teachers will use the weapons to their advantage rather than using it for its intended purpose. Teachers don’t agree with the idea of arming faculty either because they don’t think that being armed is a part of their job. A lot of the people interviewed also believe that increasing the use of guns will only cause more violence.
