The A-Blast will be sponsoring the annual Halloween Costume Contest on Oct. 31.

Students wearing costumes should have their picture taken in the cafeteria during their lunch. The contest will be open during all lunches for students to participate and have their picture taken.

Those intending on participating in the contest must follow are certain rules in order to be considered eligible for the contest.

Costumes cannot be culturally insensitive nor can they break the AHS dress code. In addition, hats and masks can only be worn while taking a picture and must be removed afterwards. The costume cannot be disruptive in the classroom and those participating must have their picture taken by The A-Blast in order to officially be entered in the contest.

There will be gift card prizes awarded to the best costume among each grade level and the best costume among AHS staff members. The best overall costume will win a free yearbook as well.

One student that plans on participating in the contest is senior Idris Dahir.

“I’ll be going as a crazy chemist with a long white lab coat, tall crazy white hair and a pair of goggles,” Dahir said. “I’m participating because I think I can win the contest with ease.”
