The Annandale Theater Company (ATC) is in the process of rehearsing for the spring musical. This year’s musical is a comedy titled, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.
“The rehearsal process is going really well,” senior Amanda Weaver said. “Everyone is really starting to get into their characters and the show is coming together so fast. My favorite part is getting to spend time with my friends and go through the process together. The memories are priceless.”
Weaver will be starring as Olive Ostrovsky.
“The rehearsal process has been going well. We have already finished blocking and choreographing the show,” director Katherine Brunberg said. “We have great student choreographers and I have a great student assistant director.”
The musical, unlike other productions, is an ensemble show. There is no one star and it showcases a lot of different actors. There are nine people who are on stage for the majority of the show, however, there is not one person that stands out as the clear lead.
“Rehearsing is going pretty good. It is faster than usual because the musical is very short,” senior Jewel Coulter said. “I think my favorite part is improvising with random people in the audience. I play Rona and she has parts where she gets to do that. It’s gonna be different for me each time I do a show.”
Opening night will be April 28 at 7 p.m.
