Deep in the heart of Springfield, tucked away off Backlick Road, is a homey little restaurant called Kate’s Irish Pub. This pub

was named“Bar of the Month” by Tap agazing in Nov., 2007. The pub is open seven days a week from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

The welcoming feeling you get as you walk through the door takes the pressure off the planning and preparing an extravagant night out tends to carry at times. Many people come with close friends to take a load off and let loose.

This little pub was originally designed for families that like to sit down for a quick tasting bite to eat. Kate’s has a cozy, laid back atmosphere where everybody is family. An open eating area surrounds a sports bar in the middle of the dining area. This particular restaurant has the environment more designed towards adults and teenagers rather than younger children.

The menu here was created for an everyday craving of real American food. They offer all types of soups such as spicy tomato, chicken noodle, and basil. If your looking for sandwiches, they have typical favorites like grilled cheese, hamburgers, Rueben‘s, B.L.T’s and more. They also carry the classic American-styled appetizers french fries, chicken tenders, and nachos will always be around

Each time I step foot on Kate’s Irish Pub property I already know that I will be ordering the Steak and Cheese sub. It is my favorite, and always will be.

Worn out parents or exhausted teenagers will appreciate the short wait time this restaurant provides. They really have their customers in mind each and every day. All waiters/waitresses are clean cut, polite and helpful.

One of the major attractions that draws people in are the live bands that play each night. Bands come through this restaurant and play music pieces to entertain the customers and give them a less then obnoxious background noise as they enjoy a delicious meal.

Kate’s Irish Pub is affordable for anybody and everybody, serving food at a reasonably acceptable price. They honestly strive to keep the people in the community happy, and are recognized for doing so.

I recommend this restaurant to anybody, especially local people. The employees succeeded at making this one of the most unique and pleasant spots to eat.
