Former AHS student arrested for making bomb threat

Several hours after the bomb scare which created delays for AHS and other local schools, Fairfax police charged former AHS student Marco Antonio Verduo Toledo, 19, with felony threats to make a bomb and criminal trespass.

According to WUSA9, Verduo Toledo called their newsroom to inform them that there was a bomb at AHS. A staffer got his name and number and then called police around 4:30 a.m. This is how the police department was able to track him down so quickly.

“I’m just surprised that it was him. He was completely crazy, but I never really expected this,” senior Reid Moore said, who knew Verduo Toledo when he attended AHS and Poe MS.

Under Virginia law, any threat to bomb a building is a class five felony. Class five felonies can be punished by one to ten years in prison, a $2,500 fine or both. Criminal trespass is a class one misdemeanor. Anyone convicted of a class one misdemeanor can be held in jail for a maximum of 12 months and will have to pay a $2,500 fine.
