George Mason University is a favorite among AHS students because of
its close proximity. Many teachers have graduated from the university
and share their pride for it. This university has only been open for
30 years which is still fairly young. The campus is approximately 806
acres and students can choose to live on campus. Freshman do not have
to live on the campus. More than half of all the classes at George
Mason are medium sized. Only 15.7% of classes have more than 50
students. This college has a student to faculty ratio of 16:1. 52% of
the students in George Mason are male and the 48% are female. There
are over 200 clubs to choose from. GMU offers day care, a women’s
center, tutoring, and health care. There is on-campus security and
late night escorts and transportation. Like many universities, GMU has
