Christina Aguilera’s Genie In a Bottle was the #1 summer song of 1999.

The lazy days of summer have arrived! Every year there’s one standout song that gets stuck in our heads. For those that crave songs that are no longer played on the radio, but were once part of summer conversations, here are some suggestions.

Newcomer Christina Aguilera did not disappoint music audiences with her debut single “Genie in a Bottle,”   known for it’s catchy yet controversial lyrics and metaphors about a girl who is trapped and can only be released when given the proper treatment.

Beyoncé stunned the world with her upbeat debut that established the former Destiny’s Child singer to be a prominent solo artist. “Crazy in Love,” will make you get up and dance the night away!

 “Hollaback Girl”: Gwen Stefani (2005) 

“It’s Bananas!” Back in your primary school days, you may have recalled an unfamiliar voice from the radio teaching you how to spell the word “bananas.” That person was none other than Gwen Stefani in her hit single “Hollaback Girl,” with music video featuring a recognizable cheer-leading theme.
