AHSGVL wins under a double rainbow

Yesterday night, on a rainy, colorful Tuesday afternoon, AHS girls varsity lacrosse rises above the Edison Eagles to win 10-9 in a thriller on the road. With that win, the AHSGV Lacrosse record improves to 2-4. After opening up the season with two rough losses, girls lax is now on a 2 game winning streak, both games won on the road.

In the win over the Eagles last night, Senior Madie Walsh says that, “The win felt really good because it was a really intense game that we had to come together in order to win, and that’s just what we did.” While senior team captain, Sasha Silva carried the team in goals scored. Junior, Melissa Wilson, came in clutch in overtime by scoring the winning goal.

Junior captain, Megan Lee also summed up the win by stating, “We came into the game more confident than any other game because our team’s defense has been shutting down our opponents. Our attacking plays have been starting to come together. When we have confidence in the offense and defense, we are not to be messed with. This game was just an example of all parts of the team rising to the occasion and building confidence for our next victim.”
