It can be hard to go back to your normal routine.

Todayis the first day back to school after winter break. Many students may be sad at the idea of returning to school and sometimes it can be difficult to get back to your normal routine. It doesn’t have to be this hard with theses tips to help ease the transition to normal academic life.

1. Try to sleep earlier and earlier each day

If you have already started sleeping earlier, then the sleep transition will be much easier. For those who have been staying up until three a.m. each day, it can be hard to have to wake up. A too drastic change will leave you tossing and turning all  night, so cut back an hour each night until you get used to it.

2. Review what you learned

Students often forget what they learned in matter of days, so several days off school can make a student feel disoriented about the material. Look over any notes you took the days following up to the break. Try to look over the homework and read from any textbooks you have to ensure that you are not too lost.

3. Don’t come back with a too relaxed mentality, stay positive

It doesn’t seem like a best thing in the world to come back to school, but try to give an effort. It can be pressuring to push the work aside, because you haven’t had to really do too much for the past several days. Remember that there is still work to be done and we’re halfway through the quarter. Also don’t forget there will be upcoming holidays soon, so stay positive.
