The final episode of the AMC TV series Breaking Bad aired on Sunday, September 29. The show has been on TV since 2008, and recently won an award for best drama.
The main character, Walter White (Bryan Cranston), was a chemistry teacher that got cancer and needed funds to support him and his family, so with the help of Jessie Pinkman (Aaron Paul) they started a meth lab. As time progressed, Walter White soon because a drug lord in the midwest and started to expand his operation overseas. Which brings us into this final season.
The season finale was highly anticipated and put against the season finale’s of shows like Lost and Friends. And lets just say, it did not disappoint.
Between Walt being caught as the great Heisenberg and then Walt and Jesse splitting paths after their long history, this one episode revealed more than all season did. After the last episode, where Todd’s uncle (Jack) stole all of Walt’s 40 million dollars that he made from the meth business.
The final episode of the series was satisfying because Director, Vince Gilligan somehow tied every little snippet throughout the entire series with a 75 minute long episode. How he did that was another question though.
Gilligan used foreshadowing throughout the entire 5th season, to show how the great ‘Heisenberg’ was going to end his reign on the drug world. But things ended a bit differently than I thought.
The smirk on Walt’s face as his body slumps towards the ground with a bullet hole summarizes who he is in just one short clip. Smirking because he saved Jessie from being enslaved and because most of his family got away clean. But also is dying because of all the nasty things he’s ever done due to greed and his business.
Even though the episode moved a little slow in the beginning, quickly picked up after the first half hour of the show. Being the season finale and starting off slow like that was a bit of a downer on the series, but once it got picked up and started to get interesting, it definitely made up for lost time.
The ending ended up a bit differently than i predicted, but in all I knew Walter White would end with a bang, whether it be good or bad.
Overall, Breaking Bad was a phenomenal show that got viewers to sit on the edge of their seats and bite their nails all at once. Leaving satisfied, the viewers are still sentimental about the show ending and it will definitely be missed by all.
