An interview with Julius Dunbar, Kao$forLoV3

An interview with Julius Dunbar, Kao$forLoV3

Senior Julius Dunbar is an up and coming artist, whose work heavily revolves around spirituality with the intention of spreading peace and love. Going under the name of Kao$forLov3, Kaos, or Zer0. His passion revolves around the love for music that began at an early age. “I always loved listening to music when I was younger, and it really just sparked from there. I play a little bit of violin, guitar and piano/keyboard. I am a self taught singer, I slowly learned to sing by listening to my mom, and listening to my favorite pop punk/rock groups. I’m also a self taught producer, and engineer and I learned how to do that by messing around with FL studios trying to make my music production quality sound as good as my favorite songs,” said Dunbar.

His process of creating music is similar to many other creatives. “First I get into the mood, and then I go into my closet which is my studio, and that’s where all the beats, and melodies come together. I tend to write around 4 bars at a time and punch in again and again.”

When asked about his genre, Dunbar says his main influences are XXXtentacion, Sleeping with Sirens, Lincoln Park and Lil Peep, classifying his overall genre as a combination of Hip-Hop, Rock and a little bit of punk. “My music taste is just chaotic. Just wow. That’s where the name comes from.”

“Give me a little run down about your name.”

“I go by Kao$, but my full stage name is Kao$forLov3. My life was just really chaotic when I first started making music. It was overall a reflection of the way that I feel. I felt the weight of the world on my shoulders and wanted to control that chaos, and those negative feelings and use it to my advantage, with my own self will.” Said Dunbar.

“You said you’re into spirituality, can you elaborate on how that has influenced your music and creativity?”

“My name represents a part of my spirituality, chaos energy is a state of divinity and destruction, and it’s all nothing and everything at once. That’s what this physical manifestation that we live day to day is, we call it reality. “Lov3” comes from the love that I have for other people, and how I would do anything for these individuals. My name means a god, like a state of creativity and destruction. I am everything and nothing and everywhere, and nowhere, I am infinite and I am zero.”

Dunbar has hopes for a career in music and says it’s something he sees himself doing for the rest of his life. “I hope to build a loyal fan base because I want my message to be heard, and continue to spread peace and love as other artists have done in the past.”
