Performer Spotlight: Senior Hannah Vaughn

Performer Spotlight: Senior Hannah Vaughn

Q: When did you start singing and performing?

A: I started singing when I was really little. Both of my parents are musicians and I immediately wanted to perform since I was young

Q: Who inspired you to start performing?

A: My sister. She’s one of the best singers I know

Q:What is your favorite memory you have from being in chorus?

A: I made my best friends in chorus and if we hadn’t been in choir together we would not be as close as we are now

Q: Does your personal music taste reflect what you like to sing?

A: Yes. I listen to a lot of music but the songs and music of my favorite artists that inspire me are Phoebe Bridgers, Taylor Swift, Frank Ocean and Tyler, the Creator. They inspire my singing and writing style.

Q: How has being a performer and a musician shaped you?

A: I love writing, have a lot of confidence on stage and I have music theory skills so I’ve been able to write some of my own music

Q: What does being a performer mean to you?

A: It means entertaining others and myself and being able to feel and understand the music on a whole nother level

Q: What advice would you give to other young performers?

A: It’s okay to mess up. Everyone starts somewhere and you wouldn’t have good performances without the bad ones.
