“Fractured” surprises and thrills

Fractured is a psychological thriller on Netflix that came out in 2019. It’s about a dad who is driving back home with his family after Thanksgiving break. He and his wife were fighting the whole ride back with their daughter in the back listening to music. After his daughter’s music player runs out of batteries, Ray decides to stop at a gas station to get her batteries, but when his daughter gets out and wanders off, she finds a stray dog, and in fear of the dog, she steps to the edge of the platform. When Ray notices, he throws a rock at the dog, but it startles his daughter and she falls back into the hole. Ray jumps in after her, thinking he can save her but hits his head instead.

When Ray wakes up, he finds his wife crying. When he finally gets it together, they take their daughter to the hospital. When the doctor takes his daughter to get a CT scan, his wife goes in with her and Ray waits outside. After a while, Ray gets anxious because his family still hasn’t come out. When he asks the doctor what happened, they tell him he came in alone. Ray then runs around the hospital trying to find his missing family.

This movie was one of the best movies I’ve watched because of the plot twist at the end. Although the movie is slow in the beginning, it speeds up and I couldn’t stop watching it until the end. I started to question what the hospital is doing to him and where his family is. I came up with a lot of theories, but all of them are nothing compared to the actual ending. The movie makes you root for Ray in the beginning, but in the end, you learn the truth. I would most definitely recommend this movie to anyone.
