Students react to local murder-suicide

In Annandale, two bodies have been discovered after a murder-suicide on May 27. The bodies of 13 year old Alexis Jackson and her 40 year old father, John Jackson, were found inside a SUV located on Forest Grove Drive in the Glasgow MS neighborhood. The car was detected by a family member around 1 am.

The younger Jackson was a 7th grader at Glasgow MS. Her father was a former sergeant with the Fairfax County police department. Jackson left the police department in June 2010 after serving for 16 years.

“She [Alexis Jackson] was really nice and she shouldn’t have gone so soon. Her family would do anything for her and they were all really nice people. I think that people’s lives have changed because her presence is lost from us,” freshman Amanie Joseph said.

Many students who knew Alexis, were personally devastated by the tragedy.

“Alexi was the sweetest, nicest and most innocent little girl. She didn’t deserve what she got, but God will take care of her,” freshman Kaitlyn Cook said.

It is not yet who committed the murder and who committed suicide. Forensic investigators are still looking into the case. The motive has yet to be revealed.
