Baseball warms up

The baseball season is here! On Monday, February 20th, tryouts began for one of America’s most played and original sports. The weather for tryouts was absolutely amazing being 65 and sunny both days.

Atoms baseball is led by head coach, Christopher Baggot, and assistant coach and Nolan Gilbert, prepare their team to go into battle.

An obvious standout on the team is Liam Conroy. He has been varsity since sophomore year and will, for sure, be a key part of the team. Liam will be a captain of the Atoms Varsity baseball team and key role model for younger players. Ten freshman tried out for baseball which is a promising sign for the future.

This year is thought to be a rebuilding year for the Varsity Atoms baseball after losing 14 seniors last year. Liam is not too worried about it because he says that all the other teams in the district have also lost a lot of great senior players.

“We will lose some and win some, but we are going to leave it all out on the field this year,” Conroy said.“We have more problems then the city of Gotham, but my boys are as loyal as Robin.”
