Recent Idol winner’s debut album is a hit

Scotty McCreery’s road to fame began when he stunned American Idol judges with his deep, southern, Josh Turner-like voice. He instantly captured the hearts of teenage girls all across the country with his baritone, country voice and his young, loveable personality. With millions of supporters on his side, he went on to win the 2011 season of American Idol.

Four months later, Scotty McCreery is now 18, and releasing his debut album, titled Clear as Day. The songs in the album are focused on young romance and Scotty’s deep southern roots. The album includes McCreery’s first single, “I Love You This Big”.  The slightly cheesy, love song  was able to make its way to top 15 on the charts with strong and energetic vocals. The talented, heartthrob put the perfect amount of emotion into the romantic melody to steal the hearts of his Idol fans once again.

Born in the little town of Garner, North Carolina, McCreery came a long way to become a star. His family orientated and religious background is evident in many of his song lyrics. His good looks, beautiful voice, and good ethics have gave him the chance to be the next country, mega-star.

McCreery’s current single, “The Trouble with Girls” is a whimsical tune that could melt any young girls’ heart. All though McCreery has been criticized for singing to many of the same-old, same-old romantic ballads, this single will instantly find its way on the charts. The charming lyrics seem to capture what every girl dreams about being told.

Finally, after four ballads in a row, McCreery shakes things up with the song titled “Water Tower Town.” The song captures the southern essence of growing up in a small town in the south. Despite its catchy tune and fresh, up-beat melody, the lyrics of the song could easily be labeled as overused. When describing the small southern town, McCreery talks about pick-up trucks, sweet tea, church and football. Terms that have been the focus of almost every modern-day country hit. Despite the clichéd lyrics, the number is both catchy and uplifting; an entirely new side of McCreery that hasn’t been seen before.

He continues on to sing faster songs, but still focuses on young romance as his major theme. The sixth song on the album is McCreery’s own edition of the hit by Keith Urban, “Walk in the Country.” The McCreery version of the famous country tune is one of the great highlights of the new album. McCreery uses his soothing, deep, southern voice to give the lyrics a whole new feeling of passion.

The debut album, Clear as Day was released on October 3 and is available to be purchased on iTunes. It’s upbeat and romantic country tunes are expected to skyrocket their way up the country charts in the next few weeks.
