Alumna Evan Washington, senior Laura Hackfeld, and alumna Paulina Stehr perform “Zero the Hero” from Hercules at last year’s Broadway Desserts.

The choral department will be hosting the 14th annual Broadway Desserts concert on January 11 and 12. The best singers from AHS will gather for two nights at George Mason University’s Center for the Arts and perform some of the most popular songs in Broadway history. This year, the songs selected will be coming from 31 different musicals.

“Last year Broadway Desserts was incredible and I’m looking forward to even more good times this year,” sophomore Peter Scheible said.

Songs such as “Pinball Wizard” from Tommy and “It Just Ain’t Me” from The Adventures of Tom Sawyerwill be sung by many different students from all different grade levels.

Tickets to the matinee are $10 and the evening show are $20.

“I am very excited for Broadway Desserts this year because it is my senior year and my sixth year performing in this event,” student director Laura Hackfeld said.
