Ready for summer
As the 2023-2024 school year comes to an end, students throughout Annandale High School are gearing up for summer break and what it will hold.
The school year, which ends June 16, 2023, saw students return to the “normal” school environment that was present before COVID-19, grapple with the 90/10 grading policy, and more. And after a hectic school year, students are more than ready for summer to finally arrive.
“Its honestly been a tough year with the unbalanced grading policies so I’m ready for a break before my junior year.” Said Sophomore Katherine Escobar.
Students all around Annandale are preparing for exciting summer vacations, whether that be taking a trip, participating in a summer enrichment program, working a summer job, and more.
“I’m planning on visiting family in Spain so I’m excited to leave the stress of school behind, it’s been a hard school year.” Said Sophomore Allison Rodas.
However, some students don’t have a jam packed summer planned but instead take this opportunity to rest and relax.
“I don’t do much during the summer, I like staying at home and getting all the rest I can get.” Said Junior Semir Ali.
The 2023-2024 school year will start August 21, 2023.
