Q: Why did you choose this school?

A: I went there for a visit in January, got to stay the night with the team,  and I spent time talking to the coach and ended up really liking the offer and the program structure. I spent time talking to some of the professors there and I liked the way the classes were set up. What I liked was what they had to offer compared to the D1 schools I was looking at.

Q: What D1 schools were you looking at?

Story continues below advertisement

A: [I was looking at] George Mason, UNCW, and Old Dominion.

Q: What did you do when you visited there?

A: They took me on a tour of the pool and the locker rooms, then they took me around the campus. I got to see the new dorms that I get to stay in next fall, they took me to the Psychology Department and I met the professors there.

Q: What was your favorite thing about the campus?

A: I like [that] its small and that everything is in walking distance, because it’s a small town. And I will be part of an environment that is changing and becoming more state of the art.

Q: Where is Shippensburg?

A: Its 20 minutes north of Gettysburg; it’s in Pennsylvania.

Interview with Becky’s Mom

Q: Are you happy with your daughters decision to go to Shippensburg?

A: Yes, I am very happy with her decision

Q: Are you going down to watch her swim next fall?

A: Yes, I will.

Q: What do you like about the school?

A: The closeness; it’s close to home, but still some distance away. The team seems to be pretty good, not a wild bunch of kids. She will fit in really well there.
